The Offaly man has only secured one Top 10 finish this year - a fifth place at The Honda Classic in February.
Lowry and McIlroy will be joined by 2009 PGA Championship winner Padraig Harrington and Seamus Power.
Of the Irish, It'll be the world number three who tees off first, McIlroy starts his round at 1.11pm Irish time, Lowry will follow within separate groups minutes later, while Power starts at 6.42pm.
