He was three years into a ten-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jon Gruden has stepped down as head-coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
He's been embroiled in controversy over a series of alleged inappropriate emails.
The New York Times reported yesterday that they'd discovered a series of messages from Gruden with homophobic and misogynistic terms.
Gruden says he's resigned because he didn't want to become a distraction and he's apologised for any hurt caused.
