Alex Dunne raced from 17th to 7th on Saturday after Friday's crash drama.
Offaly's Alex Dunne managed to secure some valuable championship points on another rollercoaster weekend in the Formula Three World Championship.
The Clonbullogue teenager managed to race his way from 17th on the grid to an impressive 7th place finish in Saturday's sprint race.
Dunne couldn't repeat the performance in Sunday's feature race owing to what he called "some technical issues and a little bit of bad luck".
Martinius Stenshorne and Ferrari Academy prospect Dino Beganovic picked up race wins in the sprint and feature contests respectively.
Earlier in the week, The MP Motorsport driver was caught up in controversy after he put in to a wall by Bulgarian racer Nikola Tsolov in free practice.
Dunne was given a reprimand for unnecessarily impeding Tsolov while the Trident driver was hit with a three place grid penalty for causing a collision.
"I don't know what on earth he was thinking" 😳
