Rhode are Offaly Senior Football Champions for a record 31st time.

They clinched the title from three-in-a-row chasing Tullamore in O'Connor Park yesterday.

Minutes 40-50 were crucial with Rhode registering a run of unanswered points to turn a two point deficit into a 3 point lead.

One of the game's turning points came when Johnny Moloney fielded a long ball, he coughed up possession into the hands of Ruairi McNamee who raced clear, rounded the keeper to hit the games first goal.

It ended 1-09 to 11 points - with Rhode midfielder Alan McNamee claiming his 13th county medal, 24 years on from his first.
