It took place in Islandbridge, Co. Dublin.
Offaly Rowing Club junior members enjoyed a successful weekend at Neptune and Commercial regattas. The events took place at the clubs in Islandbridge, which stretches over the River Liffey.
After, training hard with dedicated coaches all through the winter the junior members were focused on preforming well. Junior crews ranging in age from 12 to 15 competed in multiple races that included single, double and quadruple sculls.
The capable crews remained calm and collected whilst racing in their heats. Starting well and finding their rhythm easily, crews found strong competition from their opponents.
Not deterred, the Women's J15 and Men's J15 quad sculls left an impression by reaching the semis. The WJ14 were pipped at the post by just 1/2 a length to local favourities.
In two thrilling afternoons the WJ16 quad scull kept the crowd in awe as they claimed easy victory over each heat to claim gold both days. The MJ15 double scull started strong, keeping pace and crossed the finish line with a well deserved claiming of gold.
The other winning crews were the WJ 15 double of Lyla Kane Walsh and Annie Pidgeon and the WJ 16 double of Roisin Byrne and Isobel McAuliffe. Special mention to junior Shane McLachlan who competed in his first ever single scull race.

Juniors had a special guest of olympic bronze medalist Eimear Lambe to present them with their gold medals.
Overall, the weekend was a great success for the ORC competing against some of the best clubs in the country and to come away with gold in five events.
