Peamount gave as good as they got in a tight first half but faded against a physically dominant Athlone side in the second period.
Madison Gibson won and missed a penalty shortly before igniting a counter attack that saw Chloe Singleton get on the end of a Kellie Brennan cross to give Town the lead.
Singleton doubled her tally moments later, and the game and the President's Cup were sealed by Casey Howe in the 85th minute.
