Laois went blow for blow with Offaly in the Joe MCDonagh Cup final in Croke Park.
Laois manager Willie Maher is speaking of his "pride" after seeing his side fall to defeat at the hands of Offaly in this year's Joe McDonagh Cup Final.
After conceding goals at the start of the first and second halves, Laois had to come from behind to draw level late in the game, only to see a run of scores by Johnny Kelly's side which sealed the Championship.
Flagged as a potential winning partnership before the game, midfield pair Paddy Purcell and Aiden Corby were dominant in the first period, scoring a combined 8 points.
Offaly's reaction was to drop Brian Duignan back to close down the pair - the single score added by Purcell in the second half suggests the change was successful.
The O'Moore County will be left reflecting on missed opportunities.
