Westmeath Hurlers Eager To Compete After Training Block

The Lake County's intercounty season starts this evening at Parnell Park.

Westmeath's senior hurlers are looking forward to returning to competitive action as they take on Dublin in Parnell Park this evening.

The county's manager Joe Fortune says his players are raring to go after a tough six week training block.

The Lake County can look forward to facing Galway, Limerick and Tipperary in their first three fixtures of their division one league campaign in February.

Fortune says the Walsh Cup serves a vital purpose in the county's preparation:
