The day before Christmas eve is the day for all last minute shoppers to take to the stores.
The 23rd of December is expected to be the busiest day for Christmas shopping this year, according to data from AIB.
Last year, between 3 and 4pm on Friday the 22nd was the busiest hour for spending.
Overall, 3.8 billion euro was spent by the bank's customers in card transactions, as people prepared for the festive season.
