Braveheart Fans Preparing For Auction From Midlands Home

Pieces are being sold from St Martin's in Trim where Mel Gibson stayed when shooting Braveheart.

Braveheart fans are preparing for an auction tomorrow of pieces from a Midlands home where Mel Gibson stayed. 

There is 500 items from the location where the star lived while shooting the Oscar-winning epic in 1994 including his antique  bed and bedroom furnishings from St Martin’s in Trim. 

Owned by publican Gerry Brady, the collection will go under the hammer following public viewings at the property.

Mr Gibson returned last year to mark the film’s anniversary, meeting fans and revisiting the house used during the Irish shoot.

The auction also features a piece of furniture from Fatal Deviation, Ireland’s infamous 1998 martial arts film made in Trim.

Auctioneer Niall Mullen says the pieces are going up for sale as the home owner is downsizing:
