The annual day has been marked the last six years.
Today is Dog Friendly Ireland Day.
The annual day has been marked by Dogs Trust Ireland for the past six years, as a way to help businesses and venues become more welcoming to dogs.
Research by the animal welfare charity found 94% would bring their dog on holiday in Ireland, if the destination was dog friendly.
Vonna Nolan, Head Coach of Dogs Trust's Training School, says they've developed an online assessment tool to help owners decide if they should bring their dogs on a day out:
Today is Dog Friendly Ireland Day! Show your support for Ireland becoming more dog friendly by sharing a pic of your pooch doing what makes them happiest with the hashtag #DogFriendlyIrelandDay, and tag us so we can RT!🐾💛
