Midlands local authorities have a 92% approval rate for planning decisions.
Over 1,600 developments in the midlands have been granted planning permission in 2022.
Figures from the Office of the Planning Regulator show the region has an approval rate of 92%, slightly above the national average of 89%.
Laois County Council granted planning permission to the most developments in the region, at 632 - 35 properties were refused.
This is followed by the local authority in Offaly, where 529 developments received the green light, while 46 were turned down.
Permission was granted for 490 new properties in Westmeath, and the local authority refused 60 submissions.
