24 people with covid-19 are being treated in midlands hospitals this morning.

11 in Tullamore Regional Hospital, 7 in Portlaoise, and 6 in Mullingar.

That includes two patients in ICU - one each in Portlaoise and Tullamore.

There are also two suspected cases in the Tullamore Regional Hospital - one general and one critical case.

A total of 298 confirmed cases are being treated in Irish hospitals this morning - an increase of 24 since yesterday.

It's the highest number of patients in wards since May 25th.
