Shots were fired at the front of a house in Arden View in Tullamore shortly before 7 o'clock last Monday evening.
Gardaí arrested a man, aged in his 40s, on Tuesday.
He's being detained at Tullamore Garda Station, under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
Investigations are ongoing.
