13 - 18 year old are now the most affected age group.
241 people had inpatient admissions in acute hospitals due to eating orders last year.
According to freedom of information figures, 88 per cent were female.
189 of the admissions were down to anorexia.
In the Dublin Midlands hospital group, 26 people were admitted for eating disorders in 2018, and 16 in 2019.
