AIB Didn't Shine Enough Light On Draw-Downs - Midlands Senator

The Westmeath Senator says we'll have to wait for answers, after the bank appeared before an Oireachtas Committee yesterday.

A midlands Senator believes AIB didn't 'shine enough light' on its draw-down policies during questions from the Oireachtas Finance Committee.

The bank appeared before the committee yesterday, saying the same process is followed for all cancellation of debt no matter who is involved. 

The issue came to light after it emerged former Kilkenny hurler DJ Carey had debt written down. 

1,900 customers have had over 90% of their debt written off by the bank.
