Just under 400 knives have been seized in the midlands in the last five years.
There's been a 68% increase in the number of blades taken by the Laois/Offaly division in that time, the highest of which was 71 in 2018.
Gardaí in Westmeath have confiscated 134 knives, with their largest haul coming when 45 were seized in 2019.
Some of the increases reported are being attributed to improvements in the system of recording by An Garda Siochana.
The figures were obtained following a parliamentary question from Fine Gael TD Neale Richmond.
