Aontú Calling For Full-Time Justice Minister In Helen McEntee's Absence

The lack of a full-time Justice Minister in Helen McEntee's absence is another sign the government has 'taken their eye off the ball in terms of crime.'

They're the words of Meath West TD Peadar Toibín, who believes the role is too important to not be filled by a full-time Minister.

Heather Humphreys will take over as Justice Minister today, as Helen McEntee begins her maternity leave.

But the Aontú leader believes the Minister for Rural and Community Development will be too busy with her responsibilities to give the position the attention it needs:
