The appeal includes disruptions to the local traffic plan.
Plans for a residential development in a Laois town have been halted due to an appeal.
Applicants Cube Housing Limited sought to demolish Dunnes Hardware on New Row in Abbeyleix to build 28 new apartments and homes.
Permission was granted by the local authority subject to 19 conditions, including reducing the unit number to 26.
Abbeyleix's Ethel Burke is objecting to the development on the basis the design and materials do not fit the local conservation area plan.
The appeal also states it doesn't address demand for those with families, and it would disrupt the local traffic plan.
A final decision is expected on January 20th next year.
