A fundraiser is underway so that Derryounce Lake can be maintained.
A Laois community group are hoping to raise €20,000 to enable the upkeep of a well known amenity.
Portarlington Community Development Association are behind the GoFundMe page, which has accumulated €4,000 to date.
The money will be used for trail re-surfacing, wildlife feeders, Bird boxes, Duck tubes along with waste removal and regeneration of plants and grasses in Derryounce.
