Bank of Ireland experienced a 'glitch' which meant customers were able to transfer and withdraw funds that weren't actually in their accounts last night.
Queues formed at ATM's around the country last night with people attempting to withdraw funds that they didn't have.
The bank says the technical issues have now been fixed.
John Lowe of MoneyDoctors.ie has been speaking with Midlands 103's David Hollywood and says some people took advantage of the glitch:
There is a significant need to call Bank of Ireland Senior Management before the Finance Committee, according to one of its members.
It comes as yesterday saw a technological glitch which saw people able to withdraw funds from ATMs over their normal limits.
Gardaí were deployed in certain areas on a public order basis.
The Bank has clarified that any withdrawals made last night will be applied to accounts today.
