According to the bank, the issues have now been fixed.
Bank of Ireland experienced a 'glitch' which meant customers were able to transfer and withdraw funds that weren't actually in their accounts last night.
Queues formed at ATM's around the country last night with people attempting to withdraw funds that they didn't have.
The bank says the technical issues have now been fixed.
John Lowe of MoneyDoctors.ie has been speaking with Midlands 103's David Hollywood and says some people took advantage of the glitch:
There is a significant need to call Bank of Ireland Senior Management before the Finance Committee, according to one of its members.
It comes as yesterday saw a technological glitch which saw people able to withdraw funds from ATMs over their normal limits.
Gardaí were deployed in certain areas on a public order basis.
The Bank has clarified that any withdrawals made last night will be applied to accounts today.
Aontú Leader and member of the Finance Committee Peadar Tóibín says the situation was incredibly sloppy:
Susanne Rogers from Social Justice Ireland says that may have serious consequences for some customers, with Bank of Ireland saying all withdrawals will applied to their accounts today:
Financial advisor Paul Merriman from AskPaul.ie says the liability is on customers to return any extra money they withdrew - and a failure to do so will likely damage their credit rating:
Fine Gael’s Bernard Durkan thinks it's indicative of a slip in standards:
