The Laois-Offaly TD is to address the matter at a committee meeting this evening.
A member of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee is suggesting Brian Stanley recuses himself as chairperson.
The Laois-Offaly TD is facing pressure to resign, after his comments on two IRA attacks on British soldiers on Twitter.
His PAC colleague, Fine Gael TD Jennifer Carroll MacNeil, says it's up to Deputy Stanley and Sinn Féin to decide what, if any, repercussion he should face.
She doesn't believe it warrants a resignation, but rather that he steps away from the role for a period of three or six months:
STANLEY: The Laois-Offaly TD will speak publicly about the matter for the first time later today.
