More investment into a Westmeath town's water supply is needed, despite €114m being put towards a drainage plant.
The concerns are being raised by Athlone Chamber of Commerce after the town was not included in Uisce Éireann's Water Supply Project for the Eastern and Midlands region.
Athlone is a designated regional growth centre, with an expected population of 30,000 by the early 2030s.
