A new bike scheme to include those with disabilities in cycling activities will be launched in Westmeath next year.
The Disability Hub, the first of its kind across Europe, has recently been launched in Mayo and allows people living with disabilities aged between 5 and 18 to hire a bike for use along the greenways.
Athlone will see the initiative launched by Variety Children's Charity in March, the first area to be added in 2025, while people in Portumna can expect the scheme to be in place before Christmas.
