Brian Cowen served as Taoiseach from 2008-2011.
A launch event celebrating the new biography of former Taoiseach Brian Cowen is set to take place this evening.
The Offaly man's new book, "Brian Cowen - Anatomy of a Taoiseach", which was first launched in Dublin, will see Offaly historian Michael Byrne be the guest speaker at the Tullamore Court Hotel launch event.
The book, written by Gary Murphy, explores the decisions, pressures and circumstances that shaped Brian Cowen’s 1,036 days as Taoiseach, marked by the collapse of Ireland’s banking system and the state’s entry into an EU-IMF programme.
Brian Cowen served as Ireland’s 12th Taoiseach from April 2008 until March 2011.
