58 people left emergency accommodation in the region during Q2 of this year.

Just over 330 people accessed emergency accommodation across the Midlands in August.

The latest figures from the Department of Housing shows that figure consists of 231 adults and 100 children, up from 319 in July.

Offaly recorded the highest number of people at 77, Laois had 72, Westmeath 58 and Longford 24.

A progress report for Q2 of this year also shows 58 people left emergency accomodation in the Midlands - 37 adults and 21 children.

While 60 people - 42 adults and 18 children were prevented from becoming homeless in the region
