The link between the now judge and the former justice minister has surfaced.
It's emerged a Circuit Court judge appointed the same day as Seamus Woulfe is a former employee of Charlie Flanagan's solicitors firm.
The Irish Independent reports Mary Morrissey worked for around three years at Bolger White Egan & Flanagan solicitors in Portlaoise, before setting up her own firm.
She applied for the circuit court vacancy through the Judicial Appointments Advisory Board, after the passing of Judge John Hannan in February.
Her application was approved by the Taoiseach and cabinet, and she's reported to have been appointed the same day Seamus Woulfe was appointed to the Supreme Court.
Laois-Offaly Fine Gael TD Charlie Flanagan was Justice Minister until June of this year.
