BnM is promising €12m in community benefit funding.
A €150m Midlands windfarm project is being officially launched by the Climate Minister today.
Darragh O'Brien is in Offaly to mark the opening of the Derrinlough Wind Farm.
The development consists of 21 six megawatt turbines, which will produce 350 gigawatt hours of production on an annual basis.
BnM and Amazon have agreed on a corporate power purchase agreement connected to the project.
BnM has established the Derrinlough Community Benefit Fund, which will deliver approximately €12m in funding to the local community over the lifetime of the wind farm.
The community benefit fund will include funding for local community projects, dedicated near neighbour supports, providing contributions towards electricity bills, as well as scholarships for local students attending third-level education.
In its initial phase, over €467,000 has been committed in funding.
