Marion McGuire is raising funds for the charity after her seven year old son Ciaran began having seizures 18 months ago.
A coffee morning is taking place in Kilminchy Hair Design in Portlaoise this morning from 10am.
Ms. McGuire's partner Mark is also planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and he says they didn't know what was happening when Ciaran had his first seizure:
