Athlone Midland Rape Crisis Centre is providing the newly dedicated service.
A new dedicated counselling service for young people who have experienced sexual violence, is being set up in Westmeath.
The service, provided by the Athlone Midland Rape Crisis Centre, is for those aged 12 to 18 years old.
Those running the centre say they're keen for any parents, teachers, or GPs who know a young person in crisis, to refer them to the centre.
Manager of the centre in Athlone, Pauline Cahillane, says a huge portion of the population has experienced sexual violence at some point in their lives:
