Local scientist will travel to Florida today
A new space mission to help scientists better understand how the sun works is set to launch from the Kennedy Space Centre today.
The Solar Orbiter will launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida and will spend seven years sending images back to Earth.
Dr. Peter Gallagher, Director of the Rosse Solar-Terrestrial Observatory at Birr Castle, is one of the team of scientists from the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies who will attend the launch.
