Ireland's nitrates derogation is keeping many farms from going under.
That's according to Offaly MEP Barry Cowen, following his meeting with the IFA Environment Committee, where they discussed farming priorities for Ireland.
Mr Cowen updated the committee on his ongoing political efforts to secure support for maintaining the nitrates derogation.
The Fianna Fáil rep says keeping the derogation will help the Irish agriculture sector to flourish:
