Westmeath Community Garda Stacey Looby launched the campaign in 2020, with May 15th set as this years date.
It's being announced the 2026 Go Purple Day is taking place on May 15th, to raise awareness about domestic abuse and supporting local services across the Midlands.
First launched in 2020 by Westmeath Community Garda Stacey Looby, the initiative has evolved into a national campaign, with An Garda Síochána partnering with domestic abuse support services.
This year, the public is encouraged to wear, bake, and plant purple as a symbol of support.
Community Gardaí will visit schools, shopping centers, and clubs on the day to spread awareness.
