A midlands man says they have been waiting years for their voices to be heard.
The Disabled Community is staging a protest at the Dáil over their rights.
It comes amid calls on the Government to sign up to the Optional Protocol of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Approximately 150 people attended the protest today.
The Protocol enables people with disabilities to make complaints to the UN about potential rights violations.
