Midlands Passengers Face Irish Rail Bank Holiday Disruption

The weekend is expected to be extremely busy.

The people of the midlands are being advised to prepare for a busy bank holiday weekend on Ireland's rail service.

Iarnród Éireann is encouraging people to pre book intercity travel ahead of time, with 200 thousand expected to use intercity rail services alone.

Works will also be carried out through Athlone Station, impacting the Galway and Westport routes, on Saturday.

Commuters are being asked to check their travel information as some revisions will be in place, particularly on Monday.

From half 4 on Saturday evening, there will be bus transfers between Tullamore and Ballinasloe for those on the Dublin-Galway route.

From 6 on Saturday evening, there will be bus transfers between Tullamore and Roscommon for those on the Dublin-Westport route.
