The idea was implemented following incidents in the Slieve Blooms two years ago.
Drones are being used to fight and stop the spread of forest fires in the Midlands.
It's the second year that Coillte will be using the devices, after a decrease of 100 fires was recorded between 2018 and 2019.
The change was made following a number of large incidents two years ago, including in the Slieve Blooms in Co.Laois.
Firefighters use the drones to pinpoint the exact location of a blaze to improve detection and response time.
