The green light has been given for the proposed facility near Rochfortbridge.
The green light has been given to a €1 billion data centre and energy campus in Westmeath.
Westmeath County Council approved plans for the facility near Rochfortbridge.
The project, proposed by Offaly company Red Admiral DC Ltd, will include six data centre units and a hybrid energy system combining solar power, fuel cells, and battery storage.
The 600-acre development is expected to create about 760 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs during its five-year construction phase.
Approval was granted subject to 32 conditions after planners determined the project did not qualify as Strategic Infrastructure Development.
