Portlaoise is one of only three main towns across the country to see a fall in median house prices.
The cost of a house in Portlaoise will set you back two hundred and fifty three thousand euro, down 3.2 percent on the same time last year.
In Mullingar, homebuyers are looking at three hundred and thirty thousand for a home and anyone wanting to buy in Tullamore will need around 275 thousand.
The largest fall in price is in Monaghan of more than 38 percent, and is also the cheapest in the country at one hundred and sixty three thousand euro.
The median price of a home in the midlands will set you back around €261,000.
A new report from Geowox found house prices nationally increased by 10 percent in the third quarter of this year.
House prices in Offaly have seen the largest increase in the region at over 15 percent, bringing the median in the county to €260,000 which is the lowest price in the midlands.
In Westmeath and Laois, the cost of a home also rose when compared to the same time last year by 5.2 and 4 percent respectively.
Median prices in the two counties range from €261,000 to €263,000.
Nationally, homebuyers are currently facing a cost of around €352,000, with every county's prices increasing, except for Leitrim which remained the same.
The highest cost in the country comes in Dublin, specifically in Dublin 6 West at €732,000, while the lowest pricing is in Donegal at €191,000.
