Local Authorities in the midlands will benefit from €3.4m in funding from two government schemes.
Laois,Offaly and Westmeath will receive 819,000 in Jobs Stimulus Funding for 20 climate change projects.
They'll also get a further €2.6m for active travel schemes like improving crossing facilities in towns and villages.
