The discovery was made with the help of detector dog Bailey.
€53,500 in drugs have been seized at Athlone Mail Centre.
Revenue officers uncovered the almost 7 kilos of illegal drugs and psychoactive substances, including cannabis, hash cakes, benzodiazepines and cannabis-infused jellies and chocolate, on Monday.
They were discovered in packets declared as items such as ‘hair bows’, ‘football memorabilia’ and 'photos’.
The packets originated from the UK and were destined for addresses throughout Ireland, including in Offaly, Laois and Longford.
