Education Minister Assures Parents On School Choice Amid New Application Pilot

Tullamore was chosen as one of five Irish towns for the new system because of its growing population.

The Education Minister is reassuring Midlands parents they'll still be able to choose a preferred school when it comes to a pilot application system.

Tullamore is one of five towns in Ireland selected for the new system due to its population growth.

Coláiste Choilm, Killina Presentation Secondary School, Sacred Heart Secondary School and Tullamore College are the four Offaly schools featured.

However some fear they won't be able to pick their preferred option. 

Education Minister Helen McEntee says the new scheme has been designed to make the process of applying for second level easier for families:
