An 85 year old man has died after a car struck a pedestrian in Offaly yesterday evening.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for post mortem examination.
The driver of the car was not injured in the collision.
The incident occured on Roscrea/Shinrone road in the Mountheaton area between 5:30 and 6 yesterday evening and the road has since reopened.
