Tullamore is the only midalnds hospital that saw a decrease over the last decade.
Over the last 10 years the Emergency Department wait times in Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise has increased by 10% from 4.6 hours to 5.1 hours.
Mullingar is up 9%, however Tullamore is down by 17% in the same time period.
The average time people were waiting to be seen in each emergency department in the State in the past ten years, nationally went from 6 hours in 2015 to 7.2 hours in 2025.
