Facemask Row Causes Delays On Galway-Athlone Train

The service had already been delayed in Ballinasloe.

Passengers who'd already waited nearly an hour had to endure a far longer delay yesterday because of a face mask row on a train yesterday.

The 17.20 service from Galway to Athlone should have taken less than an hour -- but was stopped at Ballinasloe because of debris on the line.

It was ready to go after 7pm -- but was delayed again because a man was refusing to cover his face.

Gardaí were called in to take him off, but arrived to find the train had left him behind shortly before 8pm.
