An episode of Fair City broadcast on Sunday depicted an 'inaccurate' portrayal of confession, according to a parish priest.
The scene featured Fr Liam Plunkett, played by Phelim Drew arguing with Westmeath's Tina Kellegher's character Ger Lynch about a one-night stand they had when they were teenagers.
The argument took place under the seal of confession.
