Flood Warnings Issued In South East Amid Continued Heavy Rain

Conditions are expected to get worse over the next few days.

Local authorities, especially in the south east, are warning of possible flooding for the remainder of the week.

More rain is on the way from tomorrow, as January rainfall was higher than usual.

Saturated ground, higher river levels and tides along with the expected rail fall could potential lead to further flooding.

Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says rain from the Wicklow Mountains has caused unexpected flooding in the east coast.
