Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin is taking up the role of CEO at Bahrain Polytechnic, a government-owned education institute.
He's had a long career in the field of education, having spent the last 20 years at the helm of AIT, before stepping down last year following the merger with Limerick IT.
In his new role, Professor Ó Catháin will oversee the academic and admin directors and help the Polytechnic develop and grow.
