Teac Tom delivered nearly 5,000 therapy sessions
A Laois charity has been named as a finalist in this years Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Awards.
Angela Hayes, founder of Teac Tom, is nominated for the Humanitarian Of The Year Award.
The service provides immediate walk-in crisis intervention, counselling, and family support for those affected by suicide and mental health challenges in both Laois and Kilkenny.
Nearly 5,000 therapy sessions were delivered last year with €300,000 in fundraising required annually to maintain their services last year.
The award ceremony takes place on May 8th with former President of Ireland Mary Robinson to be honoured with a special Lifetime Achievement Award
