The construction funding deadline has been rescheduled until March 1st.
The clock is being reset on a long-awaited domestic violence refuge for Laois.
It comes after the housing body first selected to deliver the project had its application to fund the 8-unit shelter rejected by the Justice Department due issues around non-compliance.
The latest monthly meeting of the council confirmed the issues around Sophia House couldn't be resolved and a new approved body is being sought to partner with Laois Domestic Abuse Service.
A new date of March 1st has been set for construction funding.
