The incoming increase to excise duty on fuel is an attack on SMEs and rural Ireland.
That's the view of the Irish Road Haulage Association, ahead of the Government re-instating the excise duty on Monday.
It will see rates increased by four cent for petrol, three cent for diesel, and 1.5 cent for market gas oil, before being fully restored in August.
